To Our Out of Town & International Patients
Dr. Frederick Buechel, Jr. MD at the Robotic Joint Center in New York , sees patients from around the United States and from all over the world for Robotic-Arm Assisted Partial Knee Replacement and Total Knee Replacement using the Stryker Mako™ Robotic System.
Our Virtual Consultation platform allows you to have a live interactive video discussion with Dr. Buechel regarding your knee condition from your home, work, or anywhere you have an internet connection. Dr. Buechel comes prepared to the consultation by reviewing your Medical History Forms, Knee History Forms, and Imaging that we help you to prepare for him prior to your scheduled appointment. He spends as much time as you need to answer any questions you may have prepared or think of during the consultation.
If you decide from your Virtual Consultation that you wish to proceed with your Robotic Assisted Partial Knee or Total Knee Replacement procedure, an In-Office Appointment is scheduled when you arrive in New York.
Your In-Office Appointment will be used to perform a complete physical exam, review any new imaging that needs to be obtained, and to confirm the diagnosis and decision to proceed with your chosen surgery is correct. Our concierge staff will greet you with open arms making sure you are completely informed of what you and your family need to do, while you are in town for your procedure. To optimize patients’ travel schedules, patients can have their office evaluation and their procedure(s) arranged the same week.
We will help you arrange your pre-operative medical evaluation and medical clearance for your procedure, and any lab work that needs to be performed prior to your procedure. Most of this can be done in your hometown and with your personal physician if you have one. If you do not have access to a medical doctor in your hometown for your medical pre-operative work-up, we will gladly arrange everything for you in New York.
Patients are asked to fill out our new patient information Medical History Form, Knee History Form, the New Patient Registration Forms prior to their virtual consultation. These forms provide the doctor with the information he needs to discuss your condition with you, and to help our staff be prepared to help you with any financial questions. The digital PDF documents can be filled in directly from our website and sent to us by clicking on the “email button” at the bottom upon completion. These documents can also be printed, completed, and emailed or faxed to the office.
